My girlfriend and I would like a nice place near the Pantheon and if they have someone who speaks a little english it would help to prop up my dreadfull Italian.

I don't think there's any 3* hotel in Rome for EUR 100. We booked Hotel Genio for June at EUR 206. June is peak time.

Mel is right. I stayed at the Hotel Cesari a couple blocks from the Pantheon and it was $100 for a single. Worth it though. Nice rooms, helpful staff.

We stayed at a 2star hotel, the Hotel Navona, last year. I believe you can get a double with bath for 100 euros.
It was pretty basic, but clean, the staff spoke English and the best part was the location..on a side street 1 block off of Piazza Navona and very close to the Pantheon.
You may want to check out other 2stars in the area.

Ellen: Can you describe the single at the Cesari? Was it like a pillbox, or an actual room? Balcony? Any other comments appreciated.

The del Senato overlooks the Pantheon, is rated three star, but I felt it deserved higher. It had great AC, quiet rooms, and a staff that was very fluent in English. A few more dollars than the Cesari which is also nice.

del Senato is LOVELY.
Stayed there last yr, doubles were about $180/day in july.
This yr they quoted me 240 Euros for a double in june, though.
But, if you can afford it, try to book there
Steve is right, much more than the 3*** that it has,
Plus, if you get a piazza facing room, you feel as if you can just reach right out and TOUCH the Pantheon!!
