Do you need to go to Liverpool Street station in London, or the city of Liverpool - it's not quite clear from your question.

Youy can go by train, but it's not a direct connection. You ned to change at least twice, depending on the time of day that you're travelling.

Visit www.thetrainline.com for details, but this is a rough guide:

11:45Stansted Airport 12:17Tottenham Hale Train NATIONAL EXPRESS EAST ANGLIA 00h 32

12:17Tottenham Hale 13:07London Euston Tube n/a 00h 50

13:07London Euston 15:15Liverpool Lime Street Train VIRGIN TRAINS 02h 08

Having left it this late though, it isn't go to be cheap.

If you mean 'Liverpool Street' the Stansted Express will take you straight from the airport, direct route no changes.

If you mean the city of Liverpool, you will probably need to go from Euston. Train from the airport to Tottenham Hale, tube to Euston, Train from Euston to Liverpool.

You will need to check the Tfl website for tube engineering works this weekend. Also, be ready for a whopping fare to Liverpool, if that's where you are really going, as at 2 days notice I don't imagine there will be much in the way of cheap tickets left.

Snap!!

Good point RM67, I read it as Liverpool the city. If it's Liverpool Street the station in London, then it's still the trainline, but it appears that there is a direct train that takes around 50 minutes.

Best of luck - let us know if you do manage to find a reasonable fare. :-)

You don't need to go to Liverpool Street in order to get to Euston - take the Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale then Victoria Line Tube to Euston then train to Liverpool.

You might be able to save money by booking the London to Liverpool leg separately from Stansted to London - but then it's your responsibility to ensure that you catch the train

If you are under the age of 25 then you could get a 16-25 railcard to reduce the cost by one third. You only need it when you board the train so you can book using the railcard and buy when you arrive in the UK.
