Stansted Coach

Has anyone used the Stansted Coach (bus) for travel from Stansted to Victoria Coach Station? I am considering it as an alternative to the Stansted Express, but would appreciate thoughts from those who have used the service and can compare the two. Thank you.

Well - it mostly depends on where in London is your ultimate destination. If it is on the northern or eastern side, going to Victoria doesn't make much sense. But if you are heading to the southern or western areas (Victoria, S Kens, etc) then the coach is better.

Both are very convenient - which is better mainly depends on where you are going.

Thank you, Janis. We are staying near Victoria Station, so the coach would be convenient. Do you know how long the coach ride is (not rush hour) and the cost?

Hi,
I took the Stansted coach from Victoria a month or so ago. It cost 10 pounds for a one-way ticket, or 15 pounds for a return. The journey is meant to take about an hour, although it may take more (so allow for that). It took us 2 hours to get from Stansted to Victoria, but only 1 hour to return.

Take a look here:

We will take the coach instead of the express because we're arriving on a Sunday. Stansted Express itself uses busses on that day (construction work on the tracks), so they're no quicker but definitely more expensive.
