Stag Trip: Help Needed!

Need some help. I'm best man and an old university friends wedding. I have to arrange for the stag-weekend. In our circle this is not the first such wedding nor stag trip. The tradition has been created whereby the location has to be .... hmmm... tacky. So far we've been to Blackpool and Skegness, London with Changing of the Guard as a "must do" and the American Adventure Theme Park near Derby.
It's getting a bit competitive now so I'd like help coming up with the TACKIEST destination/activity you can think of. Furthermore with the advent of cut price air travel I think we could include the Low Countries, Ireland, Germany, France and Spain as possible destinations outside of the UK. The destination though would need to be relatively close to an international airport.
Details: There's eight of us, trip duration is 4 days and total cost per head should be kept pretty low (B&B's, room sharing whatever if you can recommend accommodation).... we wish to keep our spending vouchers dry to swap for alcohol and food.
Stag Trip will be first weekend in September (but weather's not a real issue)

F.

Brighton, Disneyland Paris, Amsterdam, Costa del Sol (particularly around Puerto Banus), Torremolinos (Algarve). Have fun.

Based solely on Debbie's description in the 'Loire Valley Chateau' thread, the Chateau de Valencay would appear to fit perfectly your tacky criterion.

Go to Pisa and treat the groom to some of the trash and trinkets around the tower and cathedral. Perhaps he can pick up your groomsman gifts there.

There was a guy selling Rolex and Raymond Weil watches for about $10, and I think and you can't get much tackier than that!

US

St Julian's area of Malta. Lots of swinging bars and cheesy accommodations. Don't miss the casino. The rest of the island is really wonderful, so don't venture past St Julian's.

Dollywood.

Elvira -
I want to send you a picture of our new buses ... they have started to arrive at last ! In 4 weeks time, they will also have ticket machines installed on them so you won't have to pay the driver anymore.
BTW, did you try the ones in Gozo ? A decade or two back, they didn't have busstops ... you just asked the conductor to pick you up or let you off, and they would actually wait for the regular passengers who got up late in the morning. I bet you missed that !

My two first picks are already up there-Eurodisney and Torremolinos.

I wondered about Majorca or Ibiza; or Ayia Napa?

Amsterdam, Frank, its dreadful; full of Scouse staggies leering at prostitutes (but never having the "guts" to go for it), awful souvenirs, based generally on porn, bad bad food and bars that are like Essex on a friday night. Good call on Blackpool, by the way, I did a hennie there a few years ago and it was the baddest; othe hennies compete over who has the best L plate and bridal dress related comedyesque costumes. And you're expected to twin up with any passing staggie. I lurved it.

Las Vegas. I know it's beyond your preferred distance traveled, but the deals are so cheap these days it's do-able - and there's NOTHING tackier.

No contest--Benidorm!! Didn't you watch the docu series about Benidorm on BBC? All the tackiness a stag party could want--and then some.

Buzzy Jun 5th, 2002 01:39 PM

Go anywhere in ESSEX the tops for everything tacky and cheap looking.

How about a night loose on Southend seafront (Clacton is dead) or a Saturday night in the Circus Tavern Purfleet. Strippers all over the place.

Another option is a pub and club crawl around white stilletoed Romford. If you are looking for tacky ESSEX has got the lot. Good Luck and stay safe.

Wilybird: we here in Amsterdam have created a special zone for British stag parties. (my estimate is about 20,000 English young "men" visiting per weekend) We have special bars from them @ Damrak, special feeding zones and special bars with pale English girls and the English lads love it! An Amsterdamer wouldn't want to be found dead in that area, but the pounds you guys bring in are welcome so we can eat in good restaurants, party in good bars and clubs and have a good time generally laughing about the stupid Brits!
Thanks for all the ideas everyone... I'm going to investigate Benidorm and Southend-on-Sea so we can put it to the vote.
Thanks alot!
