St. Tropez in August
Hi. I will be staying in a small town (Cogolin) which is ten kilometres inland from St. Tropez in August ( no choice as to time). I hear it is hot. Can anyone tell me just how hot it will be, will it be humid, and does it cool down enough at night to sleep? I am used to air-conditioning, but know that my flat will not have any ( no surprise for France).
Thanks in advance.

I am in the East Coast and when it's hot here, the humidity is terrible. I was in St. Tropez one year and it was no way as hot nor did I swet. I was based in Cassis and my room was ok without conditioning. This was in an August.

Cigalechanta is right. We have been to St Tropez many times in August. It can be hot but it never gets humid.
Cogolin is a lovely quiet town. Make sure to visit Grimaud, another beautiful small town. Les Marines de Cogolin and Port Grimaud are great as well.

Thank you for your replies. I feel better now.I am also from the East coast and find summers unbearable without air conditioning.

I live in Florida so I know "hot and humid". A couple of years ago we stayed in a hotel right on the harbor in St. Tropez(the Sube), and if it hadn't been for the air conditioning I think we would have died! It WAS HOT and HUMID, maybe unusual, but opening our French Doors to a balcony on the second (US, third) floor, didn't help. We needed the air!

we stayed in Antibes in June and it was dreadfully hot. our hotel had not air conditioning. we wished we had splurged for it. by the time we both finished our showers each morning we needed another.
