St Remy to the Camargue ideas or thoughts
 

More trip planning will be in St Remy early June. Would love to see the Flamingo's and horses there.
Has anyone taken a day trip from St Remy to Camaruge? Ideas re dining and stops would be appreciated

We stay about 20 minutes north of St Remy, near Carpentras. We did a day trip last year and here is the a link to that posting on my blog

We didn't stop to eat anywhere, but there are many posts about restos in Arles that I have seen on this board.

We drove from Arles to the Camarague 3 years ago. It was probably the inspiration for Carly Simon to sing,'Is that all there is?"

Here's a vote for the Camargue region and do try to visit Aigue Mortes, an ancient walled city which was a jumping off point during the Crusades.

We loved the area, really calm and peaceful. Great photos lp_nyc, here are some of Saintes Maries de la mer and Aigues Mortes.

Do see www.camargue.fr for villages, horses, etc. Stop in Saintes Maries de la Mer, visit the church and its view from the roof top. I agree with Aigues Mortes, a good spot for a pleasant walk followed by a delicious lunch or dinner.
