St. Remy de Provence for Easter--Restaurant Help

My husband, 5 yr old daughter & I are arriving in St. Remy (from Nice) the day before Easter.

Does anyone have a restaurant recommendation for Easter dinner in/near St. Remy? And do you think we need to call ahead now from the U.S. to try and get reservations? I've also debated buying food on the way into St. Remy so we can stay in on Easter Sunday (I assume we won't be able to buy food on Sunday). Any advice? Thanks!

Local hotel restaurants shoudl be open, but definitely call ahead for a reservation.

I think you will find most restaurants closed but most of the hotels will serve.
So I would also suggest you make reservations as the pickings will be thin.

Just outside of St. Remy near Palud de Noves (sp?)about 8 kms. is the Mas de Bournissac, an auberge with a lovely restaurant, La Maison. Another very nice restaurant, somewhat less pricey than La maison, is located in nearby Maillane, Oustalet de Maillane.

In St. Remy you might try La Source. We prefer only its outside dining so weather a factor.

For all I would seek reservations.

Here is a list of the restaurants that you've been given names for along with their telephone numbers. As far as I know they'll all be open for Easter lunch - but may not be open in the evening.

St. Remy

Jardin de Frédéric
Small, cozy restaurant with a small outdoor terrace. Good seafood dishes. Friendly owner and service is good.
Closed Sunday and Monday lunch
Dress - Casual
8, boulevard Gambetta Tel: 04 90 92 27 76
Menus offered at 25 and 28 euro (dinner) 16 euro (lunch)

La Serre

Charming restaurant in an old greenhouse in the village - chef is the grandson of Gaston Lenotre. Very good, inventive food, reasonably priced.
Dress - casual
8, rue Commune Tel: 04 90 92 37 21

La Source - Totally non-smoking

Charming, small restaurant fairly off the tourist path. Very good food, beautiful shaded terrace overlooking a garden for summer dining. Closed Wednesday
13, avenue Liberation Tel: 04 90 92 44 71
Lunch menu around 21 euro Dinner menus 30/40 euro

Outside of St.Remy, on the D5 just outside of Graveson:

Moulin d'Aure

Also a B&B, the restaurant is wonderful. The owners are Italian, so many of the dishes are Italian inspired. Reasonably priced, with a decent wine list that includes some good Italian choices.
Tel: 04 90 95 84 05

Outside of St. Remy in the direction of Eyragues or Noves:

La Maison (Domaine de Bournissac)
New restaurant and country inn (about two years old) - in a lovely old mas. Excellent cuisine. Terrace shaded by a fig tree. Menus at around 40 euro

I'll make a call from home to get reservations. This is such a helpful forum--thank you for the restaurant tips!

Unfortunately La Source is closed. Apparently the building next to it sold and the occupants don't want to look down on a restaurant terrace/patio. The owners are looking for a new location. It is a shame as it was a very nice place.
