@ann - lol. Occurred to me too, it was one of the things I noticed when I moved to the US, but I thought things might have changed as that was a long time ago.

"Strange that nobody yet said that we don't sahve our legs in Europe - we like our girls' legs hairy."

Well, that IS what I was referring to when I said, "I avoided responding to the leg shaving bit too, but I really wanted to say "haven't you ever heard of 'when in Rome do as the Romans do'?"

I thought the same but being British it was all too vulgar to discuss!

I have no such impeachments...

Today, I was reading about a Verona itinerary, and suddenly, I found this:

So simple! ( hint, look at solution number 4).

A must for any 5 star hotel!

lol, jelopez - we used to have no 8 - the magnetic soap holder, and I would like the waterproof radio too.

And I'm sure that we all know some folks who could do with no 14!

danon Oct 25th, 2015 07:52 AM

we had the silly soap thing long time ago

agree with ann : like number 14...would be a good idea for hotels !

Thanks for replying, Streamliner. It sounds like you have the appropriate thick skin to handle some of the above comments.

I'm looking forward to your trip report. It's nice to read a different point of view.

Just left Rome and I loved it. I also stayed at the St Regis. I had to laugh because the shower actually is way too small to shave your legs without being a yoga expert or having the balance of a prima ballerina, neither of which I am. I actually chose not to shave my legs one day because of the contortions I would have had to get myself into and did not want to have a hospital visit while in ROMA, and that evening my husband actually noticed and asked me why I didn't shave. LOL. I have more to share but will do it upon my return. Just wanted to share a first person perspective from the bourgeois! humbly yours (from middle class background too) jen.

Posters do not have to justify for their spending habits whatever background they come from.
The OP made a point of saying that SR was the ONLY good thing about Rome
which rankled many of those who love the city. Then rest of Italy did not fare any better
than Rome.

BTW, I would not hold my breath waiting for a trip report.....
