St. Paul's Cathedral Q ....

If I attended an early Sunday service at St. Paul's, am I still allowed to go up to the dome either during or after the service?

I cannot determine if this is possible from their website.

Thx for any feedback.

Bob

I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't count on it. I've been to several services at both St Paul's and Westminster Abbey and there is usually a polite but definite ushering of people in and out.

I can't be sure, but it's unlikely you will be allowed to linger in the cathedral after the service. Early morning service takes place in one of the side chapels (except at major festivals) and you will be politely escorted out after the service by one of the vergers or stewards. Besides, the cathedral remains closed to visitors until after the last morning service, which finishes around 12.30 pm.

Bob,

If you look under "sightseeing details" at the website, you'll see the opening times to be Monday through Saturday. I would infer from that info that there is no touring allowed on Sunday.

I may be misremembering, but I believe I was there on a Sunday afternoon. There was no service in progress at the time, and we were allowed to go inside, but not allowed to go up in the dome.
