St. Michel Overnight
Message: What is a good place reasonably price place to stay at St. Michel?
|
I like Hotel Restaurant La Digue.
It's on the landside of the causeway leading out to the mont. I stayed there in July for 75 euros. Get a room with a view of the mont. You can easily walk to the mont or take the bus. I would rather stay on the landside than on the mont. It's just like New York city. If you want a nice view of the skyline of New York, stay in Jersey City cause the people in N.Y. have a view of Jersey City. Larry J |

I'm sorry---but what does "ttt" mean?

You have other threads on this topic; just click on your name at the top of the screen to find them and their responses. FYI, St-Michel is a neighborhood in Paris. What you want is Mont St-Michel.

underhill, I know I had another thread, but was getting no viable answer to my question. I decided I hadn't asked my question correctly and so re-posted. I'm sorry, but I was frustrated.

ttt means "to the top" - - as in "Bringing your message back up <i><b>to the top</b></i>" by adding a "reply", no matter how small or inconsequential. Gets more exposure for your question.
Used rather sparingly compared to days gone by, when it was the only easy way to let someone read an "old" post. Now, the much easier way is simply to cite its URL. Best wishes, Rex |
Rex, educate me. What do you mean by "simply cite its URL". I'd like to learn the best way to naviage on Fodors--because I do think it is an incredible resource.

I also stayed at Hotel de la Digue. We had a room with a balcony and a terrific view of MSM. I agree that the view of the mont is wonderful and if you are on it, you'll miss it. My memorable moment was driving with the landscape being quite flat. When we first caught site of MSM and it was the only thing on the horizon. The rest of the drive was so cool, we watched MSM get bigger and bigger as we got closer. Have fun!

<<Rex, educate me. What do you mean by "simply cite its URL". >>
Every "thread" here has a unique URL. Right click on the header of this thread, then "Open a new window". This is what you will see in your URL line ("address bar"): http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34586851 This is the URL for THIS thread. When you want to direct someone to a previous thread, then locate it (typically by searching), "copy shortcut" to get its URL (or open a new window and Ctrl-C ... or "Edit,Copy" its URL), then paste it into the post where you want to cite it. Note that when you reply to any thread you will see a derivative of the thread's URL in your address bar - - like this: http://www.fodors.com/forums/postrep...p;tid=34586851 - - while you are composing your reply. |
