St Julians To Sliema?

Could anyone tell me the distance between St Julians and Sliema? From the reviews I've read it's a lovely walk along the coast, but I'm worried it may be too far for my son. Also how long is the ferry trip from Sliema to Valletta ?This seems a better option than taking the bus.How much does it cost? Thanks.

It could indeed take you a lot of time walking since both towns extend along the coast. The walk is lovely though, but I would suggest to take a bus.
I don't know about the cost of ferry trip.

I disagree with above poster. We stayed on the waterfront in Sliema (the Hotel Diplomat) and walked almost every day to St. Julian's. Unless your son is a toddler, there's no reason you can't walk from one to the other in 15 minutes or so.
The ferry was incredibly cheap; I can't remember the cost but if it was more than a dollar (in 1997) I'd be surprised. It was a short ride and very pleasant. A very nice way to get into Valletta, letting you out not particularly close to the bus headquarters but not a bad walk, either.

Since both towns are situated along the coast (with many bays), distances may be a bit long for a young child.
Leaving from St Julians' harbour and going to Sliema main waterfront took us an hour (of walk!)... just walking by the seashore.

Thank-you both for replying, although I'm slightly more confused as to how long it will take. I think it's probably better to know the actual milage, because folk obviously walk at different speeds. Thanks Gailw for the info on the ferry to Valletta,it's very helpful.
