St. Goar accomodations

Would like some ideas on a nice place to stay for two adults in St. Goar after a day on the Rhine. Any suggestions of good accomodations as well as places to eat?

Sorry, I can't remember the name, just across the street from where the boats dock is a good restaurant at a hotel. It has tables on a patio that look out at the Rhine. Moderately priced, too. <BR>What are you looking for in the way of accomodations?

Just looking for basic accomodations close to the Rhine for two adults in the moderate price range.

On the Rhine, I recommend Hotel "Zur Loreley" in St. Goar. Fabulous breakfast buffet included at 70DM single, 110DM double. With the DM near 50 U.S. cents, this is a real bargain. Spotless, comfortable and quiet rooms with shower and WC. Easy walk to rail station and the Rhine boat docks. Lower prices if you stay a few days. The restaurant is great, you will want to work your way through the menu. This is a family-owned and -run place, having been in the family for 80 years. I have stayed there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Located at Heerstrasse 87, 56329 St. Goar; telephone 067411614; FAX 067412550; e-mail: hotel-zur [email protected]; www.hotel-zur-loreley.de. If you stay there, see if Herr Burch remembers me. Have a great trip. Loy

The Hotel sur Loreley sounds great. What did you think of St. Goar itself as a place to stay the night versus the mroe talked about Bacharach or Rudesheim?
