St Come du Mont? too far out in Normandy?

Does anyone know if this is a little too far out for a base? and then for heading down to Mont St. Michel then Limoges after?

ViaMichelin shows the distance between St Come du Mont to Pontorson (closest mainland town) to be 126kms with an estimated driving time of around 1hour 20 mins. So for a day out that's OK.

But Limoges is just too far away for a day trip. St Come du Mont to Limoges is 560 kms, that's 6 hours of driving - just one way!

Too far out for a base for what?

Whatever, it's certainly nowhere near Limoges.
