Spring Sunshine in Europe
 

I have just received an unexpected windfall from work an wish to spend it on a 5 to 7 day break somewhere warm in europe at the end of april.Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you're looking for beach weather, you won't find it in April. If you're looking for warm enough weather to sit outside at cafes and less chance of rain, then southern Spain, Portugal, France or Italy would work. Consider the islands of Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, Malta - or the Greek Islands. <BR> <BR>I have found Paris and London to be wonderful in early spring, but then I spend lots of time in museums, historical sites and stores so the weather has little impact (except when it rains on me in the maze at Hampton Court, then it's an issue).

Answering you from Hall in Tirol (near Innsbruck, Austria) where it has been bright and sunny today. For real beach weather at the end of April you should go to the Canary Islands. With a bit of luck southern Spain or the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, etc.) might be OK too.

Would you by any chance be looking for a travel companion? 8-) Somewhere warm in Europe at the end of April sounds wonderful. Enjoy your windfall.

The end of April in the Greek islands is the time of wildflowers and soft warmth, tho too cold to swim. No crowds--perfect.

Don't come to Britain -- it's snowing here at the moment!
