“…to optimise the quality for your REM sleep, wicking away from the body the three-quarters of a pint of moisture each of us produces every night,”

Where in the world does this body moisture end up? Asking for a fellow tourist.

OOH - I knew it was posh! I have no idea if the Savoy uses those beds in all the guest rooms . . . but I do know I had some of the best night's sleep ever away from home, and no jet lag.

Legend has it that it is collected in gold bowls placed underneath the beds and piped directly to the American Bar where it is carbonated, quinine is added and then used in their signature gin and tonic…

or maybe it just evaporates..

sounds like by holding out and having to reschedule your break you actually got a better deal!

Good choice with staying in Holborn too as Hampton Court is miles away from Central London.

To clarify . . . I had only originally booked the Mitre because it is across the street from the Palace (maybe a 3 minute walk to the ticket hall) and I was attending an evening event at the summer HCP Flower Show. Rest assured once the flower show was off the table, there is no way I'd have stayed there.
