Split or Dubrovnik Airport for this Itinerary?
If I'm flying from the US into one of these airports and out of the other to Rome, is there any reason why I should do it JFK-Split-Rome or JFK-Dubrovnik-Rome? Is one route better than the other?
Thanks. |
OK, I meant that whichever one I fly into from the US, I would ferry to the other and then fly to Rome from the other one!

it is still not clear what you are planning on doing.
As far as I know, there is a ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik and from Ancona to Split. If you fly to Rome from Split or Dubrovik , you will most likely not have a direct flight ( not sure!) |
I will fly into either Split or Dubrovnik from JFK. There is a daytime ferry between the two, so I will the ferry to whichever one I don't fly into. Then I will fly to Rome from the second place. AirOne has a direct flight to Rome from either Split or Dubrovnik. I just wondered if one route was better than the other.

I didn't know about AirOne , I have not visited Croatia in a few years.
Good to know ! You may look at ferry and flight schedules ( and prices)and pick the best for you. Otherwise, I don't think it matters one way or the other . |
Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Right now, for flights from JFK to Split or Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik is a little cheaper. However, I hope they'll come down! At least the ferry from Dubrovnik to Split is only 17.50€.

Definitely check the ferry schedules to see which direction will work better for your dates. The ferries don't go back and forth every day. When we were there in May the ferry only sailed from DBV to Split 2 (or maybe 3) times a week.

Thanks, Cordelia, Maybe they run every day in July? I'll be sure to check that.
