Spello - Residenza Cappuccini Apartment?

I just booked this one bedroom apartment for three nights in October using booking.com - the first time I have ever used this website. It is cancellable without penalty. It's 216 euros for 3 nights.

For this portion of my Rome/Umbria trip (3 nights with a car) my choice was Spello or Bevagna. We prefer in-town accommodations. In Bevagna, the Palazzo Brunamonti was booked for my time period. And Casa Spello (Imqur's lovely spot) is a week rental.

Opinions? Thoughts?

Spello is a lovely spot and had a little more character than Bevagna IMO. I'm not sure where your accommodation is located but the trek up from the lower parking lot can be brutal.

I'm not sure if you're looking for other hotel recs or not. We stayed at the Albergo del Teatro which has a lovely terrace with views over the vale. We parked in the upper lot and walked down with our luggage. We found it was not too far from the upper parking lot and a short stroll to several restaurants. It was comfortable, clean with a nice shower and breakfast on that lovely terrace in the morning was a great way to start the day. We also enjoyed sipping our wine there in the evening before and after dinner.

I think you'll be happy with Spello as a base.

Crazyfortravel -

Wow! That is a beautiful terrance! I could see spending a lot of time on that terrace. I checked booking.com and the hotel was sold out for my dates. But I can try contacting the hotel directly.

Thanks for noting the two different parking lots - that is an important tip.

The apartment is toward the upper part of town on Via Cappuccini, N. 5

It looks like a nice place...It's not that far from where we stayed. The price seems very reasonable and I don't think you can go wrong with Spello.

Looks lovely. I agree, it is hard to go wrong with Spello.

The sister hotel, the Albergo Il Cacciatore has that same view and terrace. I have included the link in case you're interested in checking it out. It's a few doors down from the del Teatro and has its own restaurant with a lovely terrace also.

The one you have booked looks quite nice and seems to have lots of old world charm.

Crazy for travel we had lunch at Il Cacciatore today on the terrace-- gorgeous view! It had been raining for most of the day but cleared up great for our lunch.

Oh My Spello is lovely!

The apartment is large, slightly dark, but a great price. Very nice owner. This is just our first night in the apartment. The hotel del teAtro seemed closed, but will check again tommorrow -- Need more terrace views for drinks and lunch/ dinner.
