Hi S,

In Positano, the terrace restaurant of the Hotel Buca di Bacco. Expensive, but a great view of the beach.

In Praiano, downstairs dining room at Le Strada. Moderate. Very good. Excellent prosciutto and cipolini pizza makes a good primo.

Recommendations from other posters:

Le Sireneuse is also a fantastic hotel to eat..twinkling white lights on a beautiful terrace expensive

Ravello
Cumpa Cosima - Great reviews Go right from the main square famous for 7 pasta sampler

Belvedere dell'Infinito of the Villa Cimbrone in Ravello - Go for lunch without question the most beautiful point on the Amalfi Coast, …It's a fifteen/twenty minute walk from the main town square, reachable only on foot.

Skye - One of my favourites is La Tagliata in Montepertuso.

Oh - and the view's not bad, too ...

In Positano: La Sponda in Le Sirenuse and the restaurant in the hotel Il San Pietro, the name escapes me. Great food in both and views to die for.
Happy anniversary!

In Ravello, the Hotel Villa Maria has a beautiful terrace with splendid views. The food is excellent as well.

Prior to our recent trip an Italian acquaintance in the food business recommended Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890, in Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi. I think it's the only Michelin 3 star in southern Italy. Sadly on that trip it wasn't within our budget. I think it has rooms.

I see the Hotel Palazzo Sasso in Ravello has a star - also not a place I've personally experienced.
Two places I have experienced myself...

It's a few years since I was there but the food at the Santa Caterina hotel in Amalfi was fantastic, the service (and cocktails !) top class and you have a wonderful view : if you go there make sure you get a table outside. And have the lemon souffle :-)

The food at the Poiseidon hotel in Positano is wonderful. Normally we fight strenuously to avoid half-board deals. However, the food here was so good we ate in every night and were disappointed the one night we did go out. Also has a lovely terrace with fantastic view over Positano.

For both of these places I can onlt attest to the seafood, which was fantastic. I love seafood so much, and it's so good in southern Italy, that I don't think I've ever eaten meat there. Hope you like seafood too !

Another vote for the incredible food at the Hotel Poseidon, but I'd also highly recommend IL RITROVO, one of the restaurants in Montepertuso, a mountain village just above Positano. If you have your hotel call ahead, some of these restaurants will arrange roundtrip transportation for you.

I've also heard consistently good things about Due Passi, which I think is inbetween Sorrento and Positano, but don't quote me!

Maybe "Quattro Passi"...in Nerano ;-)
