Special restaurant in Frankfurt for last night in Europe.

Finalising the end of our next trip, we will be arrving into Frankfurt mid Saturday afternoon (in May) and departing 11am the next morning. We'd like to finish off the trip with a really nice dinner. We will be staying in the city I imagine, yet to book that but are more than happy to go out a bit if need be.

We love 'local' food & wine (although...not overly 'into' the traditional big meat meals of Germany ;-) ) And we really enjoy degustation menus.

I did the same thing for a one night stop in Amsterdam in January and ended up having one of the best meals of the trip. So I"d love to finish this next adventure in a smiliar way.

Doesn't have to be the most expensive, just a really great meal in nice surrounds.

Thanks

There are lots of wonderful restaurants in Frankfurt. From French, to Thai, and everything in between. You might want to take a look at the Trip Advisor listings for the top ones that match your interest and taste.

Many of the hotels have top restaurants.

Hessicher Hof, Steigenberger Hof, Maingau, Gerbermühle, or the Jumeirah.

Also in the Westend are some lovely places and this neighborhood itself is a beautiful residential neighborhood. You could look for a hotel here, like the Liebieg Hotel, Villa Florentina, or Beethoven Hotel.

The Main Tower restaurant is going to be the most stunning spot, but is often full as space is so limited.

During my December trip to Germany, I went to a traditional Frankfurt restaurant in the Neu-Isenburg just south of the city called Frankfurter Haus, http://www.frankfurter-haus.de/. Yeah, it was one of a "traditional" meat meal place, but it was a kind of place filled with German families celebrating something special at each table. I am not a fan of Asian cuisine in Germany. I think Asian restaurants in Germany, whether Thai or Chinese, season dishes much sweeter than the dishes I have had in Bangkok or in Hong Kong.

Hi aussiedreamer - sorry to intrude on this thread - but have you yet written about that Amsterdam meal?
Just looked at your trip report - albeit rather quickly and cannot see it.
We leave from there at the end of the month and a special meal would be great!
