Speaking English in Copenhagen

Will I have trouble getting around and communicating in Denmark, speaking only English?

stardust Jun 26th, 2004 04:43 AM

No.
In Denmark, as in the other Scandinavian countries, English is the second language thought in school, plus there's no dubbing of English TV-series and movies, so their pronounciacion is pretty good as well. Especially all young people will have a good to excellent level of English.

But knowing some basic words is always helpful, if only for making the people happy you made the effort... might increase the service level!

Important to know:

Mange Tak (MANee TAK) -- thank you very much!!!

At first I thought the above suggestion meant "money talks". I'm going to have a hard time saying that now.
