Spanish National Day

Just realized that the last full day of our three days in Madrid is October 12 which is Spain's National Day. Rookie mistake! What can we expect in terms of closures, etc? We could switch our itinerary to spend most of that day in Seville, arriving in Madrid later in the day. It seems like most of the National Day activities are centered in Madrid. Any suggestions/info would be very helpful!

When I was in Madrid a couple of years ago there was a military parade ..some roads were closed for traffic.
Prado was open as well as many restaurants and some stores.
Very festive atmosphere.

We have a flight to catch at 1pm, Monday the 12th. We plan on taking a taxi from our apart-hotel on Calle de Las Huertos to the airport. Does anyone know if we should allow extra time?

>Does anyone know if we should allow extra time?< There shouldn't be any problems. The trip should take less then 30 minutes (to T4) from your location. Order a taxi the day before.
