Spanish Honeymoon: !Ayudame!

My fiance and I are getting married in Italy on October 8th and then plan on honeymooning in Spain.

Originally, we planned on Andalucia for most of the trip (Zahara de los Atunes, Jerez, Arcos, Ronda, Sevilla and maybe head to Granada and las Alpujarras)and if we had even more time and money, Barcelona. Well, now it is proving itself difficult to travel from Naples to Andalucia without lots of flight changes, some extra money and time spent. On top of it all, my fiance wants a "beachy", "tropical" and RELAXING honeymoon (I like to explore cities and small villages with some beaches). Since we are spending a week on the Amalfi Coast prior to our wedding there (albeit with our families) and then heading to Rome for two nights afterwards, I feel like my trip reqs will be met.

Finally, my question is...

Where can we go from Rome relatively easily and cheaply for a "tropical" and "beachy" honeymoon in mid-October.

I was thinking the Canary Islands, but I am clueless about them and I've heard they are tacky???? Will we be disappointed if we choose them over our propsed Andalucia trip. The Costa de la Luz beaches won't be as warm as the Canary Islands???

Please help!

Congratulations for your wedding !

I'm sure you will enjoy your honeymoon if you decided to go to Andalucia or Canary Islands.
If, at the end, you decided to enjoy a relaxing, beachy and tropical honeymoon, discovering amazing landscapes, old towns full of local atmosphere, volcan scenerys and black sand beaches ( blonde sand in touristic areas ) don't doubt and came to Tenerife. It's a different world to see here and easy transports to visit other islands like Lanzarote and La Gomera.

How about spending more time in Rome (two days is surely not enough, especially right after the wedding) then heading to Malta? It's small, not as warm as Tenerife, but has a great deal of history as well as tourist accommodations. If you decide to go to Tenerife, you may as well spend some time in Spain; you'll have to go via Madrid or Malaga, as far as I know.

A very nice October destination is the Island of Jerba in south of Tunez with lots of connections with Rome.
This is the closest and easiest "Tropical" weather that I can think of.It should be worth checking.

I'm a major Spain fan and would say if possible to try to keep Spain in the itinerary. If not, have you considered Sicily? Lots of nice beaches, great food and greek ruins.....

I am a big Spain fan also. If you want to do Andalucia and still have beach, then make your home base Costa delSol and do day trips to Andalucia from there. Everything is really close.

I'm staying 3 nights in Cadiz over Semana Santa and I think it will be perfect for relaxing yet still close to the sherry triangle towns and the white villages for day trips. But if you really want a romantic town in Andalucia it would have to be Sevilla. Not on the beach but very romantic and great weather in October.
