Hi Mel,

Have you considered some of the responses to your previous post back in August? There was some good advice there for you to think about, primarily the reason why you choose to go with a tour in the first place.

ON this board you will find mainly independent travelers. But I have been on tours as well. If a tour is the answer for you then I personally feel Globus is one of the better choices.

This itinerary is way too busy for my taste. 15 days is not enough to see all those (14!) cities, much less actually enjoy them.

I do want to say that it is not impossible to have a good experience on a tour, but it will be way different from independent travel. I prefer independent but if you are going with aa group of friends it may be better for you. Is that the case?

Here are my suggestions

1. Do homework & read about the areas independently so you can maximize any free time seeing your select sights. Do not feel yo must do everything as a group.

2. Get a good map of the city and study the areas because most likley the hotels on tours will not be in the city tourist center. The tour guide will not encourage you to venture out (understanably they don't need to look for a bunch of lost tourists that for which they will need to answer..

3. Get ready to be flexible, patient and tolerant of your fellow bus mates. They may not all be your cup of tea.

4. Look for the restaurant recs on this board and go there when you have unescorted dinners/lunches.
Do not stay at the hotels all the time between tours and just eat there, you are missing out on everything.

5. Let the tour guide know your cell # and get theirs. Do not make them wait for you when you go off in the spare time.

My advice if you feel you must tour is to consider a leisure tour, and then suplement it with independent travel.

Consider something like Globus Spain at Leisure, a much slower pace, which includes the Ave instrad of so much time on a bus.
Arrive at least one or two days early to get to see more of Madrid or take a day trip to Segovia. Then extend at the end to visit more of Andalucia.

I don't recall your age, interests, and goals. Is it to see everything including the kitchen sink? Because that itinerary is just that.

Hope this helps!
