Spanair experience

We just returned from SPain, Marbella, Malaga area & Barcelona. THanks for all the incredibly helpful tips! My "tip" is not to fly on Spanair! They are absolutely the worst- their agents at the Malaga airport were particularly unhelpful and had a bad attitude. Without belaboring the issue, our flight was changed and flights both ways were very late and the staff at the gate area info. counter were curt and rude. THere was no language barrier, it was strictly attitude! Everyone we spoke to confirmed that their flights are always late. Driving in the Marbella area was not fun, but otherwise, the trip was great. We did some day trips and enjoyed spending a day in Morocco. What a beautiful place. Thanks again -Mo

I am sorry to hear your bad expiriences with Spanair, I have used them often and almust never had a problem. But I never used them to malaga.

Odd.

Perhaps it was the part of Spain to which you flew, the heart of the English Riviera. Like Floridians, staff in this part of Spain may get a bit worn down.

We had a very pleasant flight from Madrid to Barcelona on Spanair.

The "English Riviera"... I like it, and it certainly fits.

Sorry about your experience. I don't doubt you had a bad experience, however, I have flown Spanair several times and they have always been great. I even had excess bagagge and they had no problem with it.

Sounds like my experience was not the norm. Based on your comments, I MAY have to give them another chance! THanks- Mo

One reason they may run late: one time I had a connection in Madrid going to Santiago. My Transatlantic flight was late arriving and then I had to get to Terminal #3 (Spanair checkin) and back to Terminal #2 for the flight. After I had checked in at the Spanair desk they held the flight for me! When I boarded, they immediately closed the flight and took off.

So, I disagree with Mocat!

We recently flew Spanair from Barcelona to Copenhagen and I thought they were o.k. Not great, but they were on time, didn't lose our luggage, and got us to where we wanted to go.
