Spanair/Clickair reservation but no flight now showing

I had confirmed reservations from Granada to Madrid through Spanair but on Clickair for Sept. 23 at 11:50 am. since March. Being paranoid I just looked at their site and see they no longer fly to Madrid nonstop. They never informed me of any changes. What does a US citizen do? Must I call internationally to get a response as they haven't responded by email? Any suggtestions would be welcome, I'm really stressing. By the way, they already charged my credit card for the flight.

Did you try the Spanair Office in Washington, D.C, Spanair, 1-(888) 545-5757?

Viajero2: Didn't know they had a US 800 number. Called. Closed until Monday. Thanks. I will try and keep you posted.

Oops, grapes This is what their site says as of July 18:
They no longer fly Granada to Madrid. "Spanair or the respective travel agent will contact each affected client and will offer an alternative for tickets already purchased." NO ONE EVER CALLED OR WROTE ME!

Spanair has laid off staff and cut back a lot of routes.

Did you book directly with Spanair, through one of the on-line services (Expedia, etc.) or through a travel agent?

If it was through a travel agent, then they will take care of everything for you.

If through one of the on-line services, it may take a while to hear anything from them, so don't hold your breath.

If you booked directly with Spanair, they should have taken care of changing your reservations, but it not, then you may have to call them to find out what's going on.

The final recourse would be to contact your credit card company and have them credit your account. They will do it if you file the proper forms.

By the way, the parent company of Spanair is Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS).

Spanair code-shares with Lufthansa on routes between Germany & Spain. I think they are 'Star Alliance' partners.

Robert and all thanks for the information. I did make my reservations on the internet directly with Spanair. I will not panic until I use the 800 phone number tomorrow and get info. but all the input from you guys helps me know my options. Thanks again!

If the flight is actually with Clickair..then it will be no problem. They closed their own flights on that route..but they cannot close another company ones.
Maybe when you booked they already know that their flight was going to be closed on your dates and they managed to put you on a clickair flight.

The situation changes daily, but for now, Clickair is a part of Iberia and should be fairly stable.

Thanks to all who wrote. Spanair (sorry it was not Clickair!) apologized for not emailing me and changed my flight to Madrid from Granada but now with a stop in Barcelona. Not my first choice but at least I'm on a confirmed flight. The 800 US phone number was exactly what I needed. Whew!
