Spain - what's the weather there now?

i am semi backpacking with my toddler to spain (barcelona, madrid & sevilla). i am trying to pack as light as possible. i have been checking the weather online but would like to know how the weather is since sometimes the online weather is a bit off. i see 70's and 80's for some places in spain. is that so? anyone there right now who can confirm? what should i pack - shorts, sandals, dresses, etc.? sorry if these are silly questions.
many thanks for reading and replying :-)

The climate varies significantly by area. Southern Spain is fairly warm even in the winter (up to 60 or so). But Madrid is on a high plateau and is much colder - having a real winter. And while Barcelona is farther north it's on the coast - so not as cold. You really need to check the temps and forecast for all cities right before the trip - but I think shorts and sandals could leave you very chilly in Madrid esp in the evening.

The weather is really various in those places. So take only your favorite closes by 1-2 for all seasons. And 3 pair of shoes

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.

Hi there,

The weather in Seville (Andulusia) is usually always quite nice outside the summer months so you don't have not much to worry about whilst you're there.

Madrid however can get a lot colder than the south so I would defintely recommend to bring a jumper or jacket for the evenings as it can get quite cold.

Well at the moment the weather in Barcelona is quite pleasent. Today for example, 2nd October, it was fine and sunny...about 24 degrees. In this tempreture you could do or wear anything I think. However, it can be fine and sunny one minute in barcelona and then raining quite heavily the next. For example, it was raining breifly last night.

So I would take one of everything if you really want to travel light, e.g. one jumper, one pair of shorts, one pair of pants etc. At least this way you will be prepared for any weather which is what you should expect.

Enjoy your trip.
