Spain trip

Hello!
This fall I`m going to visit Spain. I`ll spend there about 10 days, and I would like to explore the country, try their food and visit "must see" places.
Where to begin? What are the most important places in Spain?
Thank you in advance

Spain is a big place.

Where were you planning on flying into?

Likes?

Dislikes?

What do you think are "must see" places (mine may be different from yours and others)?

Do you speak Spanish?

Renting a car or relying on public transit?

Lodging?

If you are going to the Canaries per your previous post you won;t have much time for mainland Spain. An even than 10 days will give you only about 3 hotels/cities.

What are your interests? Is the diving on or off?

10 days is a brief .time in Spain. It is a sizeable and diverse country, so my suggestion would be to concentrate on one or two or maybe three centres, Barcelona, Seville, San Sebastián, Madrid for example.

Depends what you are looking for, some homework will help you decide.

Spain is quite big and it's very different. Any region in spain has its own culture and way of living so you should think about it. I really recommend you the mediterranean Spain.... I would visit Catalonia and Valencia... You can spend some days in Barcelona and then go to Valencia. Nice clima, great people and amazing festivals! If you're interested on food I know a culinary vacations business owned by a family of locals inland Valencia. Inland Valencia has a wonderful gastronomy and great arquitecture and tiny villages. There's a small area called Terres dels Alforins and also known as the Valencian Tuscany, you can find there amazing wines. Have a look to that website and get to know the area... Absolutely recommended! www.coolfoodvalencia.com

North spain is also amazing (Galicia, Basque Country...) but I think the mediterranean area is definitely better.
