Spain Trains

We will be landing in Madrid from Venice Italy can anyone give me an estimate of time for customs, imigration to get cleared so that we can make it to the train station? Also can anyone tell me the best way to get to the AVE train station to go too Barcelona? We arrive at 13:00 and we are US citizens. Thanks

The time is dependent on your means of transportation from the airport.

Your price is dependent on how many people there are in your group.

If you're going straight to Bareclona, why don't you see if you can modify your ticket to fly to BCN? It might just be cheaper to do it that way. Or... find the cost of a connecting flight to BCN from MAD....

Yes it is only two of us. As we are going on easy jet there are no flights or easy way to get to Barcelona from Venice. That is why we are forced into the train.

So you already have the Easyjet ticket? Depending on the day, you might just book www.vueling.com direct from Venice to Barcelona and forget about Madrid connection + AVE train. The AVE train is quite expensive unless you can catch WEB discount fares. According to your other thread, the Easy Jet segment seems to be standalone. Look at www.renfe.es for AVE train schedule and prices.

If you are not going to spend time in Madrid it really makes no sense to take the train. Since you are already at the airport it would be a lot easier just to fly. You can fly either Vueling or Iberia from MAD to BCN. Either airline will have several departures a day.
