Spain - the end of October..
 

any suggestion as to where it is still warm in Spain the end of October.. would like to go and just chill out. I am not interested in the Costa del Sol... but something less touristy.

yes, definitely warm, unless you go to the very north.

we went to Granada in the middle of November, and it was warm enough to walk round in T-shirts in the day, and a light jacket at night.

I'm not sure whether you would think it warm enough to sit on the beach all day though!

Andalucia will be warm in October. No beach unless you go south.

You should take a closer look at joyful Cádiz, the 3000 year old Phoenician Gadir. Not much visited by tourists, a cradle and a hotbed of flamenco culture and some of the finest beaches in Spain. http://www.andalucia.com/cities/cadiz.htm

Not far from Cádiz is Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Have the freshest seafood and an ice cold manzanilla in one of the seafood restaurants along the river bank of the Guadalquivir. They only make this fantastic wine here in Sanlúcar, like a very dry sherry (Jerez).

'warm' and 'I am not interested in the Costa del Sol' and 'less touristy'.
Malaga(and I mean the city and immediate environs)should meet your criteria, with a fine transport hub for extra sightseeing.

Check out Seville and Cadiz. Malaga is also a nice Andalucian city with a lot of character.
