Spain March 7-14
I am planning a trip for our daughters college spring break, From what I have read southern spain is a good choice for that time of year. Questions are where to go, what towns etc during that week and how many day in each one...
|
This question is really vague and covers a rather large area. You should describe your budget, likes/dislikes, etc, and I assure you you will get a wealth of information.
|
I know it is vague sorry, but I am very unfamiliar with Spain and I am in the early stages of planning this trip. We are looking for good weather not to rainy, picturesque towns with art, history & great food. Our budget is around 4500 excluding our air (2 adults and a 19 year old) does this help?

With only a week I would pick Madrid and Andalucia, taking the AVE high speed train from Madrid to Sevilla.
If you do a search here on Sevilla, Madrid or Andalucia it will help you make some decisions and base for future questions. You have many side trips from both places but not the time to do too many of them. March is a very unpredictable month, so you may not be guaranteed good weather north or south, but it should be more like heavy sweater weather in the South, but little beach or swimming. If the sun comes out strong you can sit at sidewalk cafés in the south, and even in Madrid if you are lucky! |
A vacation in March in Spain without rain cannot really be guaranteed.
Seing you are so unfamiliar with this country I would strong recommend you get a good guide book as a first step. Something with photos and description may suit you better. that way you can see exactly what takes your fancy. Also there is a very good tourism website which covers Spain. http://www.spain.info/ |
I did a week in Andalucia a few years ago and loved it. We had fabulous weather in mid March (70s most days, no rain). I understand that was a little warmer than usual, but I think in March that is where you would want to go. Even Madrid can be quite cold in March, according to historical weather statistics.
