Spain - Malaga airport to Grenada
 

Can you get to Grenada from the Malaga airport -
anything cheap and how long will it take ?

If you want it cheap, take the bus to the city center and then walk to the Bus Station and take a bus to Granada;
Or you can take the train at the stop in front of the airport and go to Malaga central station andd walk less as it is besides the Bus Station.

have you looked at car hire? it can be pretty cheap in Spain, and if you are travelling with someone else, compares well with the cost of the train.

friends of ours caught the train and that worked very well for them; we drove and that was good for us. i can't help you with the buses.

a good place to stay in Granada is the hotel guadelupe, right opposite the alhambra. we got a lovely big room with full bath for only €60 per night, but this was about 3 years ago. but they woudl definitely be worth a try.

I'd take the cercanias train to Maria Zambrano (central) Railway station, and then walk round the corner to the Bus station. As the RR station is still unfinished, always ask: Estación de Autobuses, just in case you exit a new gate I'm unaware of.
Cannot help more, I'm local and either have someone to pick me or take a taxi home.
