You arrive in Madrid and take the AVE train to Seville immediately? have you thought you might have to get over jet lag?
|
CB: Have you figured out where you are staying in Madrid? I am listening in on this as I am playing around with a visit this winter..
|
I sleep on flights. Jet lag is not an issue unless we were driving.
Ekscrunchy: I am renting from the same waytostay.com apt set I used last November but taking a front facing apt as I don't like coutyard view apts. I will grab the link when I get off my iPhone an into my office. It is right on the Tirsa Molina plaza. The have multiples in the same building and my parents will rent a separate one. I like the location especially for a short stay. I started a new thread asking for help with new itinerary. Am looking for options for daytrips from Seville. Please feel free to weigh in. It is not getting much traffic. |
As another poster mentioned dont forget to vist Toledo, especially for the architecture interest you mention.
This was one of the highlights for me!! We did the day trip to Ahlhambra from Seville. You and/or your dad will be fine. You can enjoy a little of Granada as well. It will be a long day mind you but doable. |
Hi Anne:
We actually decided to do an overnight in Granada. My revised plan with ??s is here: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...-itinerary.cfm Ekscruncy: this is the apt I stayed in last November: http://www.waytostay.com/Madrid-apar...n-214-2382.htm Am booking this one for the husband and I this time: http://www.waytostay.com/Madrid-apar...n-214-2380.htm There are several in there that are the same. The ones that have balcony doors off the bedroom are street facing, the others are back facing. I wanted to book this but it is not avail: http://www.spain-select.com/detail_v...p?id_villa=261 - they do have a nice 1 bedroom in that building if you are so inclined and it is so close to the San Miguel Market for daily shopping which is why I wanted it. This is the one bedroom: http://www.spain-select.com/detail_v...p?id_villa=292 Despite being on the plaza, I found the area pretty dead last November as opposed to when we were there in May. For winter, I would actually stay there, during the nicer months, not so much due to the hoards of people. But that is just me. |
cherrybomb.. it is really hard for me to say as that part of Spain does not have much to entertain you for four days unless you do drive around and reach out to other villages. Without a map in front of me.. Alarcón would be in the middle of it all making your day trips reasonable and relaxing. Alarcon is SMALL but quaint and right off the old vlc-madrid road.
It all depends on where you come from or are going to . Maybe another base further inland west would be good. let me know. cuenca belmonte windmills don quixote route. Wine region around requena, utiel valencia there are some cute little casas rurales in alarcon if the parador or other nice hotel there does not fit your bill. |
