Spain Interrupted: Our not-so-excellent adventure

Just Wow. I know that you have to think on your feet but you did a great job. Donna's flight home was pricey. I wondered if her flight was full? Trying to cancel stuff for May many are giving vouchers which is fine. One day this will pass and we will be on the road again.

Thank you for sharing this extraordinary tale!
Your patience is amazing and of course your comments/photos and stories are always inspiring.
We have not really given a lot of thought to visiting Barcelona but now - guess we have a bit of a wait.
Here's to 2021 or maybe even 2022...

Just tuning in; had to adjust the home surge capacity to account for BOTH children returning, and shopping for elderly neighbors whose own local children don't seem interested in helping.
We're hearing from friends stranded here and there, postings being delayed, and all assorted interruptions. So very glad your story had a good ending and you are back at home.

Wow, Mel, this is riveting! So glad you two made it back safe and sound. You remained amazingly calm and focused.
We flew out of Madrid on March 2, after 6 weeks in Spain. Like you, we fell in love with Spain. So glad Donna is already planning your return! A great something to look forward.
Wonderful pictures, too.

Great report!
(I have to say I was a bit distracted by your comment in the first installment that a lady asked to pick up her luggage she had gate checked with her husbands remains!)
That struck me as funny and I've giggled throughout your report!

I posted a long trip report on our 2 months in Europe that included the 6 in Spain. 3 were in wonderful Seville. Haven’t got ten round to wrapping up the end of trip (Madrid and Segovia). It just seems like such another lifetime ago now.
