Spain in June - weather question
 

I would love to make a trip to Spain, visiting Madrid, Seville, Granada, Andalusia, Barcelona, and San Sebatian. I have read that best time to visit Spain in general is May and October. However, my schedule can only fit the last 2 weeks of June.
Is the heat bearable in the south in the month of June?

Assuming that SC in your screen name stands for South Carolina and when you are used to the hot and humid Southern climate, I doubt that the heat in Spain in June will seriously surprise you.

It can already be quite warm in the South/Andalucia, but even the Northern European I am, it was never a big deal.
Nevertheless, no one can foresee how the weather will be this year, so you should take any anecdotal "weather experiences" with a grain of salt.

For your days in the South, I'd recommend a hotel with pool.
Should it be really hot, you can break your day in two halves and use the midday heat (when smaller stores close down for siesta from appr. 1-5 or 2-4 anyway) to have lunch and relax at/in the pool and refuel your batteries for the afternoon/night time.
I usually tried to move the more strenous sightseeing to the morning hours, and the more relaxed explorations to the afternoon/ evening hours. Or to the nighttime when there is an opportunity like the late hours at the Alhambra.

The North should be very pleasant.
But for the nighttime hours, I would pack something warmer than just a t-shirt, e.g. a sweater. And probably a light rain jacket to be on the safe side. It's not called the "green Spain" for nothing.

Madrid has a more dry climate, so even a heat wave is easier to tolerate.

I visited Sevilla at the end of June and it was very hot. Madrid and the other places you mention should be fine.

Maybe for a 2 week trip you could limit your travels to the north - Madrid, Barcelona and San Sebastian - I think that is an ideal time for SB area. There is plenty to do in those places for 2 weeks, maybe try the south on another trip at another time of year? I was in Madrid in early June one year and it seemed plenty hot to me and I'm from Atlanta - I would not want to venture any further south!

San Sebastian and Barcelona were very comfortable in late June and early July, warm not hot.

That is too many places to see in two weeks. It can be done but you might have a better time by cutting something out. Seville can be 90 in June or it can be 102.

The south will be very hot to hellish (up to 110). Madrid is likely also very hot (up to 100). The weather on the Atlantic coast should be pleasant.

We have been to Spain several times in April - it was well into the 80s in the south and by the time we got to Madrid it was 98/99. I have also been to Madrid 3 times on business - in May, June and October - and it was always in the 90s.

Madrid and Seville definately too hot in June. Grandada is less so.

I´d suggest you do the north in June and save Andalusia for cooler months.

Based on past 15 years statistics, inland Sevilla in Andalucía would have average daily highs from some 86 to 100F the two last weeks of June. Night lows at 65-70F. http://www.wetteronline.de/Spanien/Sevilla.htm

Perfectly fine for me, and it's cooler on the coast. Fabulous Málaga city has had average highs from 80 to 90F in the same period.

Madrid "scores" some 85-95F in the two last weeks of June.

San Sebastián had an average of some 65 to 75F highs in the same period during the past fifteen years.

I have exeprienced both 118oF in Seville and 90oF in Savannah.

I would settle for Seville's heat anytime. I couldn't for more than 100 yards in Savannah the humidity was so intense.
