Spain in April - four adults, and six teenagers! Looking for hotel recommendations in Barcelona, Seville, Granada, and Madrid . . .Great location, service, and local atmosphere! Any thoughts on interesting activities with teens also appreciated.

PS if your teenagers are over 16 they are usually counted as adults (for hotle rooms etc) in Spain.

We'd prefer at least a 4 star rated accommodation, but would go to 3 star for location and character. We're interested in charm and helpful service.
We're thinking about going the week of f April 13 through the 22, with possibly two days in Barcelona, possibly three nights in Seville, one in Granada, and one in Madrid. Things may change if we can get tickets to Barcelona v. Levante UD on Aril 15! We'll be traveling by plane and train. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

One week for Madrid, Sevilla, Granada and Barcelona with a party of 6! Wow - that's very fast. I'd definately cut back on the locations. You could easily spend the time in Madrid, Barcelona OR Sevilla/Granada.

Our plan is to spend most of our time in Sevilla/Granada but fly in to Barcelona and out of Madrid. Any lodging suggestions?

Personally I'd rethink the plan to fly into Barcelona and stay for 2 days. It would be much easier to fly into Madrid, head directly to Sevilla for 4 nights, then Granada for 2 nights and spend the final night in Madrid. 2 days in Barcelona will barely give you time to recover from jetlag and then you have to get from Barcelona to Sevilla. This would also give you the option of renting a large apartment in Sevilla, which would work well with this group.

If your main interest is Andalucia, flying to and from MadrId makes sense as Cathy said.

if you still wish to go to Barcelona fly to Granada ( cheap Vueling), bus to Seville, train to Madrid.
It does involve a of moving, packing , unpacking etc.

I don' know hotels that allow more than 3 persons in a room.

OP asked for hotel recommendations, not critiques or suggestions on re-planning his/her itinerary. Even when he/she very politely tried to redirect the the itinerary critiques back to the original request, the pleas to change trip plans continue.

Travelgang; 10 people - so are you looking for 5 hotel rooms in each hotel? That may limit the number of places that you can stay as it might be hard to find 5 rooms available in some smaller hotels (the ones that have more atmosphere). Would you consider apartments? You might fit your crew into just two. Seville, I know, offers many apartments, even luxurious ones, in the old town. Service, of course, would be different and you did list that as a desire.

Suggesting apartments when the poster is asking for a HOTEL?????

Mentioning to posters to ,perhaps, rethink their itinerary is not more a criticism than suggesting apr. when they asked about hotels.
One is only trying to be helpful having visited the country numerous times.
BDW, there are not many rentals available for less than 3 nights.

Hotel suggestions have been posted many times before I would first do a search her then confirm what is doable.
To give you a bigger choice I would also suggest you look at www.booking.com reviews are given only by guests who have booked through the website so no pushing fake reviews there.
$ stars in Spain maybe different to 4 stars in say France or the US.
If you want that higher level then have a look at the Paradore chain.
Moving all of you around in taxis etc between airports could also be a logistical problem.

We will need four rooms in total. It seems as if some of the smaller hotels are actually quite willing to put another bed in one room. In Seville, we were thinking of staying in the Santa Cruz area. Wondering if the Paradore in Granada is worth the price or if there's another "authentic" location that is more reasonable. I will work with any recommendations and see if we can work out a trip room, in the meantime I was hoping to get some suggestions for Barcelona, Seville, Granda, and Madrid. Probably shouldn't have mentioned rating (4 or 5 star) in first post. Looking for atmosphere and friendly, helpful service.

It will be very difficult to get 4 rooms at the Parador In Granada in April, if not impossible at this juncture.

Just checked on the Parador in Granada and you're right - basically sold out. Any other recommendations in the area?

I think we used to call them hotels of character and I've already presumed that's what the OP meant.

Check out the Casa del Capitel Nazari hotel in Granada. We lodged there a few years ago and loved it. In a superb location, the Albaicín, it was a former palace built in the first few years of the 16th century. A double room for one night in April (I chose 18th into 19th) is showing at 110e which includes breakfast and taxes.
