Spain for 10 days

Hello,

I am planning a trip for late oct-early nov to Spain. It's for 10 full days and we know we want to do Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona and Grenada. How would you divide it up? i have the most interest in Barcelona having been to Madrid before but my friend has never been to Spain. Is Toledo worth spending a night over? Is it better to fly or take train from
Barcelona or Madrid to Grenada? THanks so much.

With 10 days I'd probably visit Madrid and Barcelona for 4 days each and Granada for 2.

Personally I'd cut a location and with only 10 days just visit 2 of these places. 10 days for all 3 locations will be somewhat quick especially considering travel time between each location and changing hotels will take up approx 4 hours. If you chose Madrid & Barcelona they make a good 10 day trip and you can easily take the train between the 2 cities, saving Granada for a future trip focusing on Andalucia. It seems a pity to rush down to Granada for 2 days and not have time to explore more of Andalucia (Cordoba, Sevilla, Malaga, white villages, sherry triangle, etc....).

Toledo is an easy day trip from Madrid, and worth the trip, in my opinion. It is a very interesting, walkable town with an interesting history.

You could try
Barcelona 5
Granada. 2
Madrid. 3

Early flight from Barcelona to Granada, overnight, late flight( or train) to Madrid.

Is it worth spending a night in Toledo? i read in a guidebook it's worth staying at night. thanks.

I would return to Madrid, spend a couple of days there, overnight in Toledo, and then go south to Granada, Cordoba, and Seville. It's the perfect time to visit Andalucia - in summer it's too hot. Another time combine Barcelona with the South of France.

what bedar said. in 10 days you will lose too much time getting to and from Barcelona and indeed, Madrid.

if you can fly into and out of Malaga, you could see Ronda, Seville, Cordoba and Granada, and Malaga again - a nice trip for 10 days in October.

I have been to andalucia. I am only going there because my friend wants to see the alhambra and ive never been to granada. i thought a flight down there might save time. i havent checked into that versus train. what do people think? Thank you.

some people love spending a night in Toledo, I preferred a day trip and a night in Madrid
( more to do !)
Vueling has cheap
flights from Barcelona to Granada and Granada - Madrid.
( we did the same some years ago)
The train from Granada to Madrid takes several hours..
Check RENFE for trains and Vueling for flights.

IMHO you are trying to do too much.

In 10 days do either Madrid and north or Madrid and south.

And if you headed south Seville has IMHO much more to see or do than Grenada (much though I love it).

the train Granada to Madrid takes 4 and 1/2 hours
There is one at six in the afternoon...

Vueling has several flights a day from Barcelona to Granada

I think the earliest is around. 7: 30. A.M.

October 12 is is a national holiday.
We did know that when we visited Granada.....it was very crowded .
