Spain fare advice
Is $510 a good round trip fare (economy) with Iberia from Chicago to Seville for the last week of March 2004? Any experiences with Iberia? Thanks.
|
I got $449 RT from Seattle-Malaga in Nov. with British Air.
|
I think it is. I booked a similar round trip flight for Chicago to Madrid nonstop on Iberia for the last two weeks of March 2004. We booked it about a month ago and paid $435 apiece.
|
I forgot to add that when we booked our flight, the Sevilla flight was just a little more, which is why I think your rate is good.

SRS:
Is the 435 rt tax inclusive? Thanks. |
igpjazz, I answered this question from the office (just as I am doing now) and so I didn't have my precise info with me. At any rate, when I got home that night I re-checked the rate I had given you. The tickets were $468 apiece with tax included. So I still think you are getting a good rate. Happy travels! |
SRS, thanks for your replies. That's the fare I'm getting, too. My concern with Iberia is that the tickets are totally non-refundable and reusable inspite of illness. Is this the info you're getting? Their customer services has been giving me different answers.

I didn't even look into that. I just saw the good price and jumped. My only concern was getting off of work.
However, you bring up a good point. Perhaps you could get some added insurance, like Access America, etc. which would cover you if you had to cancel for illness, etc. I think some of them do, but you have to buy within 10 days of your first payment on your trip (which I assume would be the airfare). If you go to insuremytrip.com, I think they tell you about many of the major insurance carriers. |
Argghh! I wish we could edit. I meant to say, I think some of them do cover illness...
Probably you need proof, but I assume you wouldn't cancel your trip unless you were truly sick! |
