You actually buy the 5 night coupon from the first Parador where you plan to use it, rather than from the Central Reservations Office. All the paradors keep the coupon booklets on hand.
If the Hostal Central is on Diputació, then it's in the Eixample, a good location, only 6 blocks from the Passeig de Gracia, 8 blocks from the transportation hub, Placa de Catalunya.
