Spain is a big country with many different regions. I suggest you get a guidebook or two and consult them.
Seriously. I'm going to Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Málaga next year and then to Nerja for a month to study Spanish.
I've been all over Spain, and it's really impossible to describe in a post like this. I especially like Andalucia, but that's just one part.

As Pegontheroad says, very different regions with very different characteristics. Spain is 17 autonomous regions and many of them consider themselves to be separate nations. And Barcelona (Catalunya), San Sebastián (The Basque Country) and Valencia is a very good starting point for fabulous food, hiking and history and traditional culture that people take great pride in. And as Pegontheroad says, Andalucía is something very special.
Here are good intro links to Barcelona, The Basque Country, Valencia and Andalucía that might help you along.
