hi Burberry,

in 12 days you are spreading yourselves pretty thin. assuming you are arriving in Barcelona on day 1, you've got only 2 1/2 days there, ditto Rome, and in Seville, you actually only have one day.

I would suggest losing one place from the itinerary - Rome or Seville.

Remember, every time you move you lose at least 1/2 a day. then you have to check in, orient yourselves to a new place, etc. etc. Day 1 could be worse if you've flown in from North America and are suffering from lack of sleep/jetlag.

do you have 12 full days or do you fly home on day 12?

Is this all booked? Because it seems kind of off. Why would you fly to Rome from Barcelona and backtrack to the middle of Andalucia?

burberry212 May 6th, 2014 09:29 AM

annhig- yes i have 12 days and fly back on 13th day

BigRuss- I understand going from barcelona to rome seems off but we just added Rome at the end and our flights were already booked.

If you booked your flights what type of advice are you seeking?

burberry212 May 6th, 2014 12:14 PM

IMDonehere- we have only booked out in and out flights not the internal flights yet, hence looking for advice

Why the expense of flying to Rome for just over one day---stay in Spain.

greg May 6th, 2014 06:43 PM

Are day 1 and day 12 travel days? If so, you only have 7 full days to begin with. You can easily add more days in three places you are staying in Spain. If you insists more locations, there are nearby gems in Spain like Granada, Cordoba, and Toledo.

bilboburgler May 6th, 2014 11:53 PM

Possible missing Grenada and Cordoba for Rome...... Nah drop Rome. It makes no sense, you have to get used to whole differrent country and way of doing things for the time in Rome. Now if you'd flown into Rome and out of Madrid, maybe.

The next issue is what are you looking for
Art
Roman antiquities
Catholic church symbols?

Because all of those are in Spain as well as Rome

burberry - and the advice is consistently, "Drop Rome".

mamcalice May 7th, 2014 04:53 AM

I would drop Rome for this trip and add the time to Barcelona and Seville. With your present itinerary, you are spending more time in airports and planes/train stations and trains than experiencing the destinations.

thanks everyone for your input :)

I echo the advise..not sure about the Rome portion? Add on time in Spain... it is glorious!

lmhornet May 19th, 2014 04:03 PM

Skip Madrid. Not all that great. Trading days in Rome and Barcelona for ones in Madrid is crazy.

Momddtravel2 May 19th, 2014 06:10 PM

I spent 4 days in Madrid and loved them... was least excited about Madrid and it was a highlight of our trip.

Momddtravel2 - would you please share some tips and highlights from your trip to Madrid and Seville?
