Where in Barcelona is the best place to stay? never been there and wondering where the best area to stay is. Thank you! like the 5th district in paris, thats where I am staying when in Paris, that type of arera. Thank you

Best areas:

El Born is hip, trendy, close to the Port and the beach, lots of bars ,restaurants and night life.
Eixample is more elegant, high-end stores, beautiful building, wide avenues.
Barcelona is easy to walk around, also great public transit.
El Borne may be more what you are looking for.

Dont know the name of the district but you might look at the hotel Condes de Barcelona.

Another vote for El Born (for the same reasons as given above).

My second choice would be the neighboring Barri Gotic, but in any case avoid Las Ramblas.

Third option is Eixample.

Use Google Earth to get an impression of the city and see where the hotels are located.
