Spain

My wife and I are going to Spain in February for 2 weeks. Plan to either arrive or leave from Barcelona and spend 4 days there and the rest of the time in Andalucia - Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, mountain villages.
Any suggestions on car, bus, train for travel plus hotels and restaurants.
Thanks.

hi philly,

how are you planning to get from Barcelona to andalucia? whether train or plane, it'll take most of a day. which leaves you with only 9 or so for the rest of your trip. if you really want to see seville, granada AND Cordoba, AND the mountain villages, you can't fit it all in.

I would consider concentrating on andalucia for this trip.

regards, ann

I would think 9 days give you a good deal of time to see parts of Anadaucia you are interested in.
You could fly (Vueling is cheap) to Granada stay 1- 2 days, rent a car..spend 1-2 days driving around villages, drive to Seville ( ditch the car), stay 3- 4 days in Seville(day trip to Cordoba) - fly Vueling back to Barcelona.

I agree with Ann 9 days is not enough time...see one or the other not both (BCN or Andalusia)

I think 9-10 days is enough for Andulucia, especially if you can structure an early morn flight from whereever you are to BCN the day you fly home.(as danon rec'd) There are 4 of us, so we land BCN or MAD, stay a few days then rent a car(it makes economic sense w/4) one way to the destination we will fly back from.
Granada is by far our favorite city in Andulcia

I would skip Barcelona. I would spend 3-4 nights in Madrid, 3 nights in Seville, 2 nights in Granada. That leaves you with extra days to spend in smaller towns like Cordoba, Cadiz, Jerez, Ronda, Arcos, Malaga area or a real small town like Comares.

Two weeks should certainly be plenty to do a nice tour starting in Barcelona, perhaps flying then, as suggested, to Granada or Sevilla, and finishing up open jaw out of Madrid or Malaga.
