Spain - 10 Days in March
Hi all,
We will be taking a side trip to Spain after attending a weeding elsewhere in Europe. So far the plans are to arrive in barcelona on march 1st and return from madrid on March 10th. I have seen recommendations to spend 2-3 days at each location. There are also MANY other places to go like Sevilla, Granada, etc., but I wonder if that is pushing things too much with the travel distances. Should we simply split the 2 locations, or is it reasonable to add another major destination? We would like to see and experience as much as possible, but do not want to live out of suitcases!! Thanks. |
If you wish to split the time between the two, there a number of very interesting day trips you can take from each city.
Some people like to see a place in two days ( tour bus, no museums etc), others like a more relaxed pace. You have 8-9 day on the ground , it takes a good part of a day to change cities. Depend on your interest ( of course). |
p.s.
since Alhambra is on 'must see" list for most visitors, you may wish to fly from Barcelona to Granada, and from Granada to Madrid. 1-4 Barcelona, 4-6 Granada, 6-10 Madrid. ??????? |
Thanks for the suggestions!!!

Don't try to see Barcelona, Madrid and Andalusia in 10 days. It's just not fun to do all those trips within trips. Focus on Barcelona/Catalonia and Madrid/Toledo/Segovia and you'll have a great trip. For an even better trip cut out Barcelona, spend 3 nights in Madrid, 3 in Seville and 2 in Granada.
