Spa/Therme tour
 

I'll be heading to Germany in March for about ten days.

I'd like to maximize spa time while not scrimping on culture (food, arts, museums, sights).

Which state should I focus on? Which area gives me the best mix of adult (i.e. fewer waterslides, more saunas) spas and culture.

I like Bad Durkheim but really for the wine festival

There are spas all over Germany. Wiesbaden (Hessen), Baden-Baden (Baden-Württemberg), Aachen (Nordrhein-Westfalen). Both Wiesbaden and Baden-Baden have a history of fancy 19th century spa culture. Wiesbaden also has a casino, not sure about Baden-Baden, and Wiesbaden also has the Rheingau Musik Festival. Both are charming cities, you couldn't go wrong with either (or heck, both).

Lavandula

Bavaria is known for its thermal spas. My mom used to spend her spa holidays in Bad Wörishofen (no. 6 in the listing below).
