Spa recommendations in Paris?

Off to Paris in September and am a confirmed Massage junkie. Anyone have any good reports/recommendations for Spas in Paris? Anyone ever been to a Hammam (sp?)

Enghien-les-Bains is a spa of great repute - or at least once was - havn't heard much about it lately - in suburban Paris on an RER train line - also horse track there.

I've been to the hammam at the Mosqué de Paris. It was great, just like the ones I've been to in Tunisia and Morocco. You need to check days and hours, though - they have different days for men and women.

Now if you really want something special, try the Caudalie spa in the Hôtel Meurice - http://www.meuricehotel.com/

Another choice is the chic Sothys Institut; massages (variety of techniques...Shiatsu, etc.) are available solo or in combination with a facial (for men or women).

Thank you for the responses. I will be staying in the Marais, if that helps anyone come up with more ideas. (I didn't know until last night where the hotel is - I'm going with my French class (small group of 5) and I'll be the youngest one at age 50!
Thanks, Jody. I looked up the Lancome Institute, didn't even think of Sothy's.
StCirq, it appears you have personal experience. What did you like about the Hotel Meurice Spa? I will look it up.

I have been to the Sothys Institut once for a facial (not massage) and enjoyed it (however, I decided not to go back as the Sothys salons in Brussels were just as good for facials and cost half as much). The staff there were all quite pleasant.

FYI, if you want to try the hammam and spa at a new, chic hotel in our favorite part of town (the 16th) check out Hotel Sezz on rue Fremiet.
www.hotelsezz.com
Note, the web site only gives you their name and contact details along with a photo display. You have to contact them via email, phone or fax to get the details.

Thank you BTilke. I have just emailed them for information.

BTilke, I emailed Hotel Sezz form spa information. It appears it is only for hotel guests. Here is the reply:

"We are sorry to inform you our well-being space is at the entire disposal of our gests so we think they could feel unpleasent to see many people come in « their area ».

Our well-being space is not enough broad to accomodate of the public."

Oh, well.

Kind regards,
