Southwest Ireland Tour/Itinerary/Lodging Help!

Jump to last reply

A friend and I are making our first visit to Ireland in August 2016 and couldn't be more excited! (we are a 20something and 30something female). We are trying to make the most of our stay in Ireland, we have 5 days in total and are spending the first two days in Dublin with my mom before she leaves on her seperate own 10 day tour. So for 3 days (an entire Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before we depart Ireland from Dublin thursday morning) we wanted to see the southwest area of Ireland. Most importantly The Ring of Kerry, Dingle town/bay, and the Cliffs of Moher. We know this is aggressive but so be it! We were thinking a day for each area - and furthermore, is there something you think we should see besides/instead of one of those? (A possible day trip to Belfast also came to mind but i think sticking to that one area of Ireland is best?) Suggestions welcome! (Also I should note we do not want to rent a car, two single females just dont feel comfortable driving on our own for our first trip) Also, any recommendations for tour groups? Originally we were thinking we would arrange day trips from Dublin for the 3 days but would really like to be able to spend at least one night (maybe 2) in maybe Killarney? To be able to get a feel for another area plus the Ring of Kerry and Dingle tours we've been seeing seem to generally start/stop in the killarney area so we'd be wasting time commuting back and forth from Dublin those morning/nights anyways. And in that case if so, would there be an option for the tour group to store our luggage/give to hotel in killarney before starting out on one of the day trips so we don't have it with us the whole day? And same with the return to Dublin the 2nd/3rd day, do people have enough time to get their luggage from their hotel before catching a train back to Dublin? Also, any hotel or B&B recommendations for staying outside of Dublin in Killarney i'm assuming? Sorry I know this is a lengthy question, any help is greatly appreciated!
