Southern Spain Home Base

We will be travelling to Spain in the middle of September. Where is a good home base if you want to see Tarifa, Rock of Gilbrater, Marabella, Malaga and Granada. We will have a car, so want to stay someplace where we can park. Thanks.

How many nights will you be on the ground?

Your destinations listed are right across the Costa del Sol and from a another post of yours, you don't seem to have booked hotels yet?

It depends on which way you come into the area, but I'd stay in Granda one night, Malaga one night and then in Marbella for Gibraltar, Tarifa.

By the way, if you intend to go to Tarifa for the day trip to Tangier, maybe rethink that one.

I was trying to squeeze in a day trip to Tangiers. Should I stay a night in Tarifa or stay the night in Tangiers? Also I plan on coming down from Sevilla.

The Tangiers trip is completely unadvisable.

How much time in total do you have for this trip?

Lifeman Aug 11th, 2011 12:14 AM

When I said "rethink", I meant "don't do". Tangiers is not Morocco. It's dirty, pushy and not worth the trip.
