South of Italy vs North of Italy
 

Can anyone give feedback on whether or not visiting the south of Italy is better than visiting the Amalfi Coast? Or is that even a good idea to add a Southern City in the same trip as Northern Italy? For instance fly into Sicaly, visit the black sand beaches in Palermo then head up North to Venice, Florence, and end in Rome? (16 total days including travel?)

i think we need a little more information, Mirta.

what time of year, who's travelling [ie size of party, composition] what do you like to see/do, where travelling from and to, what you have already booked, if anything, etc. etc.

I would leave out Palermo for the limited time you have. Stick to Venice, Florence and Rome with day trips to places like Siena, Orvieto, Tarquinia, Pisa, Lucca, etc.

My friend and I are planning to go in March we are in our 30's. Nothing booked its actually a very last minute trip.

Sicily deserves at least 10 days if you plan to go that far, and forget any beaches in March.

In March there really isn't any place in europe that has beach weather - it's a temperate climate - not a semi-tropical one like FL.

And you are trying to stuff too much into too few days. It re4ally doesn;t make sense to go to Sicily for less than 5 days or so.

If you want beach weather = go in early May in the south and late May of June farther north.
