SOUTH OF FRANCE (PROVENCE)

What is the best town to use as a "home base"? I will be in Provence July 11-19. Thanks.

Provence is a big area - what are you planning to see there? That will help determine what makes the most reasonable base.

It depends on what you would like to do while there. Can you give us an idea?

We stayed in a beautiful apartment in Menerbes and it was the perfect spot for us. We had no trouble getting to all the places we wanted to visit. Some people recommend St Remy but for us it was too big and not central enough. We did go there for market day once though and enjoyed it.

We spent a week in the Luberon region of Provence and stayed in Bonnieux last July. We loved it.
