south of France help in where to stay
Maybe I made a mousetake and this is redundant but...we are meeting friends in Nice and wat to see Monaco, the coast and Provence. Should we base ourselves in one place and day trip or move from hotel to hotel? Thanks!

Given that the Cannes Film Festival will be in full swing (May 11-22) for around the time of your visit, I would plan accordingly. I would try to stay in Nice as homebase for Monaco and the coast, avoid using car at all cost using bus/train instead. Then I would move inland to visit Provence. Two hotels max.
